Year 3 visited the Florence Nightingale Museum in London. The children learnt how difficult it was to become a nurse and the battles Florence Nightingale faced to get there. The children participated in activities to learn about the differences and similarities between nurses during the reign of Queen Victoria to the modern day nurses we are familiar with in hospitals today.
As well as learning about Florence, the children also visited the Houses of Parliament and walked along the Embankment. They were both delighted and disgusted to find out that they were walking across Joseph Bazalgette's sewage system!
It was a great day - a special thank you to our parent helpers!
