Sports Week!

Posted: Fri 30th Jun 2017

At school this week we have been celebrating sport and how to remain healthy not only in our bodies but in our minds as well. We have been focusing on healthy eating, our emotions and how to keep our bodies fit.

In addition to this we have had the opportunity to try lots of different sports (including yoga!) and we have taken part in a fantastic Circus Skills workshop run by Danceworx.

Year 2 have learnt games such as ‘In and out , the dusty bluebells’ and have started using this on the playground!

Year 3 have been learning how to stay healthy.  You not only need to look after your body, but also your mind.  A healthy person has high self-esteem.  We wrote things we like about ourselves on mirrors, and then wrote what we liked about each other.

Year 5 blind tasted, deigned and then made their own smoothies as part of their healthy eating topic. There were some great successes as well as some not so successful attempts!

Sports day was a huge success and even included some of the children who will be joining us in Reception and the nursery next year!

Thank you to the parents, carers, grandparents and friends who came to support your children as well as those who took part in the Mum’s and Dad’s races! The children  (once again!) were impeccably behaved and their support, respect and admiration for each other was clear to see.
