Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I met with our parent representatives to discuss any items of concern or celebration across the school. During the forum, there were three main points raised; vehicles on site, traffic and unsafe driving on Old Tye Avenue and Jail Lane and lastly, attendance.
We politely ask that, should you need to drive to school, you park courteously and ensure that there is space for other vehicles to pass you or park in front/behind i.e. close enough to the curb. We are fully aware that parking and driving through Old Tye Avenue is becoming more of a challenge therefore we ask that if you can walk to school, or park further away and walk the rest of the journey, you do so.
Unfortunately this week we have not had any days where, as a whole school, our attendance has been higher than 96%. We know that children can become poorly this time of year and that we have had several reports of chicken pox and sickness. If your child is well enough to attend school then please ensure that they do - Mrs Lineker, Mrs Dawkins and Mrs Murphy are always on hand if you wish to seek advice as to whether your child should be in school or not.
The Bromley Safeguarding Children Partnership
The Bromley Safeguarding Children Partnership website contains a wealth of information, advice, guidance and resources to help children ensure their children are kept safe. The parents & carers page shares information ranging from gangs and young people to domestic abuse and the impact on young people, separation of families and how to support our young people through this time to bullying and how to stay safe online. The resources available are free and provide a ‘first look’ should you wish to find out more information if you are worried or concerned. Remember if you do have any concerns, you can contact any member of the safeguarding team; myself, Mrs Sargeant, Mrs Sharrock, Mrs Lucas or Mrs Fearon.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Lawrence
