Please can you help? We are collecting brand new pyjamas to donate to Children’s Oncology wards across London. The idea is to provide children who are having to spend Christmas on an Oncology ward in hospital this year, with a brand new pair of pyjamas to meet Father Christmas in! Mrs Donovan-Molinaro (Mum to Enrico in Year 1) is organising the collection. Enrico and his family are only too well aware of how difficult it is to spend Christmas in hospital, especially while undergoing such serious treatment. Here are a few words from Mrs Donovan-Molinaro: “My son Enrico has had many inpatient stays in these Oncology wards not only at Christmas time but during the whole year. I as an oncology parent know just how much these 'little things' mean to the children and their families. Two years ago we moved from collecting toys to PJs. It takes more than a few pairs to make this work. We hope to have your support once again this year….Let's see if we can beat last years total of 1,569 pairs of PJs! Thank you to EVERY single one of you that supports this appeal”
We really hope that you feel able to support this very worthwhile cause and can bring in a pair of new PJs. Please can you ensure that they fulfil the following criteria:
-Pyjamas HAVE to be brand new
-Please do not wrap them as they need to be checked by the individual hospitals.
-Please avoid Christmas themed PJs as excess pairs are given to children in need brought in to the wards throughout the year.
-If at all possible avoid fleecy PJs as hospital wards can be quite warm.
- We need boys and girls newborn to age 16 (young adult)
We are collecting until December 8th 2017. Please drop your PJs at the school gate
THANK YOU!
