We have had such a fantastic week celebrating World Book Week; the costumes for World Book Day yesterday were simply amazing - thank you everyone! My thanks must go to Mr Devlin, Literacy Coordinator, for organising such a brilliant week
full of wonderful literacy activities. Mr Devlin commented,"Reading for pleasure has such an impact on children's overall success at school, so it is important we do all that we can to promote it". All children will be bringing home a World Book Day Book Token and we encourage all children to use this token.
Thank you to everyone for making such an effort with the creative potato competition - these are absolutely brilliant and a welcome addition to our school!
This term, our Year 6 and Year 2 children will be preparing for their upcoming SATs and our Year 1 children will be working hard towards their phonics screening. If you have any questions about any of the national curriculum assessments, please do speak to your child's class teacher.
I hope you all have a very restful and enjoyable weekend,
James Ellis
