Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a wonderful first week back following the half term break; the children have come back to school ready to learn and have been sharing with us the great things they did over the holiday.
Mr Gower has been busy over the break - the Y3/4 toilets have had a make over as well as the Launchpad, the Hangar and the Y5 learning area. Thank you to Mr Gower for ensuring these areas were ready for the children to return to - it was no easy task and we are very grateful.
This week we hosted the TRG Maths group for the NCETM. Thank you to Miss Elliott and Miss Farrell for hosting this event for the many schools involved - it was a great opportunity to showcase the maths learning around the school now that Maths Mastery and Mastering Numbers are embedded into our curriculum.
On Wednesday we welcomed Abbott Movement to our CPD session for teaching staff. Ella provided a wonderful workshop focusing on dance in the primary curriculum, inclusivity and ways to encourage confidence within dance lessons. All teachers thoroughly enjoyed this session - even those pushed out of their comfort zone. In celebration assembly today, the teachers of Biggin Hill Primary School modelled this to our children and performed the dance they learned in their CPD session. The children loved watching their teachers enjoying dance and modelling courage to perform in front of others. Thank you to Ella and the amazing team of teachers at BHPS!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Lawrence
