Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you are all looking forward to the first sunny weekend in a very long time! The children have really enjoyed playing in the sunshine this week!

It was lovely to meet with Parent/Carer reps at the Parent Forum this morning. There are a number of points that were raised and we wil provide feedback about these in due course. There are a couple of immediate things where parents and carers have requested clarity:

  • PE Kits should be plain black shorts, tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt or hoodie. Small sports logos (for example on a top pocket or trouser pocket) are acceptable but large logos or pictures are not permitted.

  • School shoes should be plain black - we know that many styles have now been designed to look like trainers, these are fine but other trainers should not be worn apart from on PE or Forest School days.

  • Dogs are not allowed on site, very small puppies may be carried onto site upon request, but please do not let children stroke these as unvaccinated animals could pose a risk to children. In very rare circumstances permission may be given for a dog to be carried onto site but this MUST be done via myself or Mrs Lawrence.

  • Children should not bring toys of any kind into school.

On 22nd May we will be having another visit from Calvin Henry who is our School Improvement Partner. Calvin will be looking at writing across the school. The purpose of his visit is to validate our judgements in terms of the quality of provision and also to suggest ways in which we might improve.

Good luck for next week Year 6 - we know that you will all try your best and we are so proud of you all!

Have a wonderful, sunny weekend,

Mrs Freeman

Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead
