Dear Parents and Carers,
We were so sorry that the children's year 4 and 5 Bushcraft trip had to be a little shorter than planned. Due to the forecasted high winds, the organisers unfortunately were required to make this extremely difficult but unavoidable decision.
We know the children are very disappointed which is understandable, however they have had an amazing two days and have returned full of stories about their Bushcraft and camping adventures. Today these children are enjoying a fun-filled day in school.
Our year 4 and 5 children who remained in school have had a great few days enjoying lots of activities. As planned, today they are having their very own fun Bushcraft Day in our Forest School!
Staff teams for Bushcraft and in school have reported on the exemplary behaviour of the children throughout the week. Given the situation, this is to be commended and really does show how fabulous our children are! We will report more on both Bushcraft and our year 4 and 5 in school fun-filled few days in next week's newsletter
Although the trip was slightly shorter than anticipated, my thanks go to our staff team who accompanied the children to Bushcraft. Also, thank you to staff in school who have made it such a fun few days for the children who did not attend.
I would also like to pass on my thanks to our parents and carers of year 4 and 5 this week. Your understanding and support yesterday made the huge disappointment for the children just that little bit easier. Your emails of thanks and appreciation have been very well received!
On Monday our photographer will be here for class photographs. The photographers will be wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines.
With the relaxation of restrictions and in the interest of public safety, can we all please remain vigilant to help safeguard our school and children as much as we possibly can. We are also aware that COVID-19 cases are on the rise in our area. Please rest assured that we have robust systems of control in place and are doing everything possible in school to safeguard our children, staff and the wider community.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
My very best wishes,
Mrs Freeman
Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead
