Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to the Friends of Biggin Hill Primary School for organising
‘Explode your Colours’, it was so lovely to see all the colour and sparkle in
school last Thursday.
Biggin Hill Primary School would usually participate in the Biggin Hill
Memorial Service on Remembrance Sunday laying a wreath alongside
other service and community organisations, however, we were not able to
be part of this act of remembrance this year. Mr Chotai, Headteacher of
Charles Darwin School Academy Trust (CDAT), attended this special
service and very kindly laid a wreath on our behalf.
At the beginning of the week, all children decorated poppies in school to
take home and display in their windows to commemorate Remembrance
Day and on Wednesday at 11am our entire school community observed
two minutes silence to remember our fallen soldiers.
Next week is anti-bullying week and the theme for our school is ‘unity’.
Throughout the week, children across the whole school will be enjoying
activities that promote working together, friendship and kindness towards
each other.
To begin anti-bullying week the Anti-bullying Alliance are promoting a
nationwide 'Odd Socks Day' on Monday 16th November. On this day the
only thing children need to do is to wear odd socks to school with their
uniform - the sillier the better!
Have a fabulous weekend and I look forward to seeing you
all on Monday.
Mr Ellis
