Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has been busy as ever! I have been conducting learning walks along with other members of senior staff and it has been a pleasure to see children working so hard.
We have introduced a new reading programme in KS2 - “Destination Reader”. The programme develops learning behaviours and strategies necessary to become a confident and independent reader.
Dame Rachel de Souza (Children’s Comissioner) has launched a new survey - The Big Ambition. The survey is aimed at gathering information from children and young people about their schools, communities, family life and the wider world, as well as their hopes, dreams and aspirations for the future. This survey is for all children and young people aged 0 to 18. Children aged 6 to 18 can complete the survey themselves. For those who may need additional support or for children under six, parents and other adults can complete the survey on their behalf.
I have included a PE timetable on the next page for you to pop on your fridge. My expectation is that any changes to PE days are kept to an absolute minimum and that parents and carers are given as much notice as possible when this is the case. There will of course be some instances that are beyond our control, but it is absolutely our intention to stick to days as published.
I am delighted to inform you that Tea and Tots has started once again. If you have a baby, toddler or pre school child please feel free to bring them along for a play, chat and a piece of cake! We would love to see you and please do spread the word beyond our school community! Tea and Tots takes place in the KS1 hall on a Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm.
Have a great weekend!
My very best wishes,
Mrs Freeman
Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead
