Year 5 were evacuated to the countryside to keep them safe during WWII. They went to a 1940s school where they learned how to put on a gas mask and what to do in the event of an air raid. They also did 1940s maths, RE, history and geography lessons with a very strict teacher. In the afternoon they went shopping with ration books and 1940s money.
