Don’t panic! This was a planned activity as part of the Year 5 Buzz Day. They rebuilt London as it might have looked in 1666 and have been learning about the Great Fire of London.
They have been learning about why the fire took hold of the city so quickly and what it would have been like to have lived in London at this time. They then recreated the fire by setting alight their mock up cardboard city on our playground.
They will now be writing in the style of the great diarist Samuel Pepys to try to capture what this would have been like for people living in 1666.
Thank you SO much to Mr Mansell who made sure that the fire was recreated safely—we could not have done this without you!
What an amazing day!
